Our Experienced Staff

Beginning in Vietnam in the 1950s with the passion and mathematics knowledge of our founder Mr Ngo, all our teachers all have a passion for teaching and are motivated by each student's desire to learn. With a large team of highly experienced teachers, our Centre delivers only the best to our students.

Our teachers undergo an extensive recruitment and training program. Read below to find out more.

   Recruitment

At the beginning of each year, up to 100 applicants are assessed for the coveted role of becoming a staff member at our centre. The applicants which apply for our centre include students who receive extremely high ATAR results, state-rankers and NESA-qualified teachers with many years of experience.

To be recruited, each potential candidate will undergo a 30 minute interview with our board of directors to assess their passion for teaching and their desire to help others.

   Training

Once staff members are recruited, they are then put through intensive training programs which are specific to their desired role. Staff will have the opportunity to branch into one of the many various faculties below:

  • Primary Education
  • Mathematics
  • English
  • Science
  • Administration

Once they have chosen a faculty, staff are trained on the intricacies of that subject in small group tutorials for a minimum of 3 months. When proficient, staff will sit the Teacher Quality Assessment (TQA) where they will teach in front of faculty heads and the Board of Directors. Only after passing this assessment will they be inducted as a teacher at Ngo and Sons.

   Ongoing Evaluation

Teachers also undergo further monitoring through regular evaluation by our Coordinators. This occurs on a monthly basis and teachers who are unable to meet the evaluation criteria will undergo further training and more frequent assessment.
